I began teaching at General Ricardo Sanchez Elementary in the 2005-2006 school year, but I have been with RGCCISD since 2000-2001. I have been a 4th grade teacher for most of my educational career. I currently teach mathematics and writing, but I will also teach science and social studies this school year. Throughout my career, I have been voted GRSE Para-Educator of the Year, RGCCISD Para-Educator of the Year, and GRSE Teacher of the Year. What an honor!
Prior to working for General Ricardo Sanchez Elementary, I worked at North Grammar Elementary as the Parent Liaison. I transferred to GRSE in its first year and served as a para-educator in 1st grade and kinder. After graduating from UTPA, I was hired to teach at Roque Guerra, Jr. Elementary where I gained two years of experience in 4th grade. I was given the opportunity to return to GRSE, and I jumped at the chance. Although the district has wonderful schools, I have remained at GRSE because it’s home.
