Monday- Introduce the components of an essay

Week 2- Informational Expository

Write about your favorite toy or object you like to play with during your free time.  Explain why you enjoy playing with this toy or object.

 

Tuesday- Prewriting

Brainstorm topic and think of reasons to support your central idea

Week 3- Informational Expository

Write about your favorite teacher.  Explain why that teacher is so special to you.

 

Wednesday- Drafting

Develop rough draft

Week 4- Informational Expository

Write about your favorite way to spend time.  Explain what makes this activity special to you.

Thursday- Revising

Improve sentence structure and word choice

Week 5- Informational Expository

Write about one reason you like being in the fourth grade. Tell what you like and why you like it.

Friday- Editing

Edit for correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar usage

Week 6- RGCCISD will provide the prompt.

  • If a student missed any words on the pre-test…Study those missed words for a chance to re-test on Friday.
  • This year we’ve been using an exciting educational game called Prodigy. While we will be using the program during school hours, students are encouraged to play with the same character at home to supplement their practice!
  • 1. Go to www.prodigygame.com on almost any Internet-enabled device. 

    2. Select ‘Play Prodigy’ in the top-right corner. 

    3. Once the game loads, enter your child's username and password and select ‘LOGIN.’                                             4. Your child has been assigned a username and password.
